Anantapur: Laksha Gala Garjana rocked Nandyal town in Kurnool district on Monday held as part of extending support to the ongoing agitation against decision to bifurcate the state. Large number of students of various schools  and colleges from  surrounding mandals participated in the massive protest.

The main circle of Nandyal town witnessed large number of activists shouting pro-Samaikyandhra slogans. Addressing the gathering, JAC leader K. Ramakrishna Reddy lamented Rayala-seema students would be badly affected if state is divided. He demanded the Centre to reverse its decision to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh.

Similarly, massive agitation was witnessed at Allagadda in the district where thousands of activists assembled demanding the Centre to reverse its decision on state division.

The ongoing agitation paralysed normal life across the region on 55th day.

Over 2,500 RTC bus services were confined to depots. Teachers took out protest wearing leaves to mark future consequences if the bifurcation happens.

In Kadapa, protesters took out rally with the Telugu Talli statue on the main streets of Vempalle town as part of ongoing agitation in the district. The Samaikyandhra JAC called for district bandh on Tuesday to mount pressure on the Centre to roll back the decision.
