Visakhapatnam: Deputy collector cadre officers of the AP Revenue Services Association, on Monday, joined the indefinite work strike launched by the APNGOs against the Centre’s proposed move to bifurcate the state.
Most of the sections and office rooms in the district collectorate were locked as all the officers joined the Samaikyandhra stir.
Members of the association enacted a mock court on the collectorate premises.
After the arguments by advocates of both the sides, UPA chairperson and Congress president Sonia Gandhi was proved guilty of conspiring to divide Andhra Pradesh, and then the country, with the help of TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao and Congress AP affairs in-charge Digvijay Singh.
Terming Sonia Gandhi a traitor, the district collectorate administrative officer, A. Nageswar Reddy, who enacted the role of the judge, convicted her and sentenced her to banishment from the country. The TRS president and Digvijay Singh were sentenced to life imprisonment.
DRO, RDOs, tahsildars and deputy collectors took part in the mock court. They enacted the roles of Congress leaders, advocates and other politicians belonging to the state.
Later, all of the employees raised slogans against the Congress and UPA and demanded that the announcement on Telangana be withdrawn.
Meanwhile, Bheemili MLA Avanti Srinivas’s indefinite hunger strike entered the second day on Monday. Rajya Sabha member T. Subbarami Reddy visited the MLA’s camp and expressed solidarity with him.
Non-political JAC organised a round table with all the JACs fighting for united AP and discussed protest programmes to be taken up.
