Glamour, money and fame attracts people to filmdom, but not many achieve it all. Some prefer to remain on the periphery, content with the roles that comes their way. And some have the luxury of beginner's luck. Call it luck or talent, Mumbai-based Archanaa Guptaa has bagged three films --Rasputin, Hangover as well as Kaanchi, in which she is paired opposite Indrajith - without a single release to her credit.
Not only is Archanaa delighted with the trajectory her career is taking, she has also fallen in love with Kerala. Archanaa says, “For Kaanchi, I was shooting in Ottapaalam and the rains made everything look so beautiful. I absolutely love the climate here! In fact, I took my mother along for a schedule and am seriously thinking of buying a house here. The people are great, and so is the weather. I am also picking up the language, and though I cannot spea though I cannot speak complete sentences, I can manage to speak words."
The Mumbai girl has been getting plenty of offers from Malayalam filmmakers, but her commitments in Kannada films make it difficult for her to juggle dates. She says, “The fact that directors are happy with my work is a big confidence booster for me."
Archanaa is entranced by the costumes she has donned for her films too. She says, “I am getting to wear half-sarees, sarees and salwars in two of my films." Smiling naughtily, she asks, “Don't you think a girl looks very sexy in a saree?" Of course, we do!
