Dhoni’s ‘junior’ debuts in T’town

DC | B.V.S. Prakash | 05th Apr 2013

After Laxmi Rai, it has emerged that another Tollywood actress has ties with Team India skipper M.S. Dhoni. Komal Jha, who is making her debut in Chinna Cinema and will also be seen in Alexander, was Dhoni’s junior in DAV Jawahar Vidya Mandir in Ranchi.

“After playing for our school, he became a wicket-keeper for Commando Cricket Club. Frankly, our batch never imagined that he would become a national icon,” she said. Komal, who was five to six years junior to MSD, also lived in the same colony as Dhoni. “We lived in Mecon Colony and our parents used to be good friends,” the actress said.

Komal lost touch with the cricketer after she moved to Bengaluru for her studies.

“I took up a job in Dubai while he became a famous cricketer. Eventually, both of us moved on with our lives,” she adds.

An actress by chance, she has done one Malayalam and Kannada movie each already. “Initially my parents, who were academicians, were against it, but I knew acting was my calling,” she said.
