Kozhikode: Kerala cricketer Sanju V. Samson has been signed up by the Rajasthan Royals for the upcoming IPL season after an impressive performance in the RR camp held last week. Sanju, who scored his maiden first class century this season, played for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the last season.

“I am happy that I will be part of the next edition of IPL too. My experience with the Kolkata Knight Riders will be a major help for me. I was able to learn and understand a lot during
the last season,” says 17year-old Sanju, who was one of the backup batsmanwicketkeeper for the KKR, who won the championship last year.

“The (RR) camp was held from January 26 to 29.

Rahul Dravid was in the camp and said he was impressed by my performance. They also took note of my performances in the Ranji and Buchi Babu trophies,” he said.

Sanju scored his maiden first class century (127 not out) against Himachal Pradesh in the last Ranji Trophy season and was also top scorer in the Buchi Babu Trophy.
