Submit Aadhaar details by Feb. 15 for LPG subsidy

DC | 31st Jan 2013

Hyderabad: Domestic LPG consumers in the city will have to submit their Aadhaar number and bank account details at the respective gas distribution agencies by February 15 to obtain subsidised cylinders.

Those who fail to do so will have to pay nearly Rs 1,000 to get a non-subsidised cylinder against the subsidised price of Rs 412.50. Commissioner of civil supplies Sunil Sharma on Wednesday said that the Aadhaar number was mandatory to obtain subsidised cylinders.

Speaking to reporters here, he said, “It’s the decision taken by the Centre to implement Aadhaarlinked direct transfer of cash subsidy scheme in selected districts across the country. It will be implemented initially in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts.“

Probably the Worst government of all time. Many of the families not yet received aadhar cards, so, how could one bear Rs.1000 per cylinder? Absolutely ridiculous. The politicians can survive with their richness, but how can the poor?
