While the crease is where he is better recognised, cricketer Sadagopan Ramesh is all set now to entertain audiences on the silver screen. After his stint in the film, Santhosh Subramaniam, Ramesh is starring in Madha Gaja Raja with Vishal and Santhanam, directed by Sundar C. “He is a really good director,” says Ramesh. “It was an amazing experience. On the sets too, we would laugh our lungs out,” he smiles, recalling their time working together. “I was shooting non-stop for 30 to 35 days,
so we bonded really well. We explored some of the most beautiful locations where the movie was shot. And with Santhanam and Vishal on the set, the fun got even better,” he says.
While Sundar is known for mass entertainer, masala films, Ramesh thinks Madha Gaja Raja will help him get recognised as an actor. “I play a very simple guy in the film, and even though I have biggies like Vishal and Santhanam sharing screen space,
people will recognise me and appreciate my work. And I did get to shake a leg for a dance number too,” he quips. As for returning to his game, he says, “I haven’t watched cricket recently, but I am planning to start up a cricket academy.”
