Chorus to name royal baby Jacintha

DC | Gururaj A.Paniyadi | 11th Dec 2012

Mangalore: Days after the nurse from Udupi lost her life in London, a Facebook page , “Name the Royal Baby Jacintha in memory of Nurse Jacintha Saldanha,” has sparked off a debate on the best tribute  the UK royals can pay  her.
Jacintha Saldanha  from Shirva in Udupi district was duped into transferring a prank call from two Australian radio presenters trying to dig out information on the pregnancy of the Duchess of Cambridge admitted to the King Edward VII Hospital in London.  She was found dead near the hospital three days later.

The message on the social networking site reads, “In memory of Nurse Jacintha Saldanha, who fell victim to a hoax call, this is the Facebook page to name Prince William and the Dutchess off Cambridge's baby Jacintha in her memory. Please "like" this page and spread awareness.”

The page  that carries a photograph of Jacintha has so far received 136 likes. One post runs, “The name Jacintha I believe is of Greek origin, from the flower hyacinth. It is a beautiful name and one I believe would be apt to be one of the royal baby's middle names. Please like and share if you agree and lets raise awareness in memory of Jacintha!"

Another says, “I think they should name it Diana Jacintha, after both the women they murdered.”

One post agrees. “This is a nice idea and everything, I just want to say that the last time I saw the news this was still an ongoing investigation, but most of us assume it was the prank call largely responsible for what happened.”

But not all FB users like the idea. One post runs: “What Rubbish ??? naming the Royal Baby with a silly NURSE's name.... who committed suicide for her own sins....!!!! Wait for the truth to come out....”
