Singer Krish turns lover boy

DC | DEEPIKA RAMESH | 11th Dec 2012

Singer Krish is on cloud nine for two reasons. The celebrated singer, who is a new daddy, has signed a movie titled Puriyadha Anandham Pudhidhaga Aarambam for Rowther Films. Debutante Syed Ibrahim will direct this flick and the female lead is yet to be finalised. Krish, who also holds a degree in acting, was approached by the producer Ibrahim Rowther. An ecstatic Krish says, “I appeared in the Aga naga song in Ko for a jiffy. Rowther sir watched that song and he contacted me to listen to the script that he had. And, that’s how it happened.” The movie will be a feel-good-love story and Krish believes that it’ll be a visual treat.

Ask him if he has any heroine in mind, he smiles, “From my childhood, I’ve always liked Bhanupriya Ma’am and Radhika Akka. I’ve always loved to share screen space with them.” Krish says, “For this movie Rowther Sir wanted an accomplished heroine. But it’s difficult to work out the schedule. The director is looking for someone who would be able to dedicate time for the movie.”

Krish, who reckons, that signing up for this movie has been his conscious decision. “I’ve been listening to a lot of scripts. I went through nearly 200 scripts. But I wanted to do my first movie for a very good banner and now I’m glad that I was able to bag the much wanted opportunity.”

How does Krish’s significant other, actress Sangeetha feel about him taking on a new avatar? “She heard the story too. She has been in the industry for so long and she would be a great person to advise and suggest. I value her decision. After listening to the script, Sangeetha loved it. As I said, it’s a regular love story type, but with a different treatment,” reiterates Krish.

As an acclaimed singer, Krish has carved his niche and when asked if he would be able to manage singing and acting, he signs off saying, “Singing is my passion and my dream is to become an actor.”
