Six months after she joined politics through Janatha Dal Secular JDS, actress Pooja Gandhi has bid adieu to the party. She has now joined former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa’s new party Karnataka Janatha Party (KJP) which is all set to be launched officially on December 9 at Haveri.
Sources say, Pooja has joined the new party as nobody came to her rescue when she was being criticized in JDS. Former Member of Parliament Ayanur Manjunath had attacked Pooja Gandhi saying that she is the Dandupalya queen. Pooja had acted in the film Dandupalya which was based on the dreaded gangsters of Dandupalya. While Manjunath criticized Pooja publicly, no one from JDS came to her support. Instead former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy who is also the state president of the party said that if Pooja Gandhi was not comfortable in JDS, she can join other party.
Though HDK publicly announced that Pooja can leave the party, the actress was in no mood to comment. But on Friday evening, Pooja with her fiancée Anand Gowda surprised everyone by joining KJP. According to sources, Pooja is likely to contest the forthcoming assembly elections from Karnataka Janatha Party.
